(Question) What kind of credit score should I be looking for when I’m purchasing a home?
(Answer) First and foremost going through the loan application process is a very vulnerable and uncomfortable time to go through. I always want people to understand that getting things online is great but it is important to sit down with somebody who is not trying to push you or force you to doing this process right now. Sometimes I talk to buyers who are not ready to do anything because they’re doing some credit rebuilding to get comfortable and may not be ready for a year. At least they aren’t working with someone who is pushing to get them closed. I still recommend you sit down and talk to a good, local, reputable lender who will guide you based on your information. Every home purchase is as unique and different as the people involved.
